Ryan DeBlis, M.D.

Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

From a young age, Dr. Ryan DeBlis knew he wanted to go into orthopaedic medicine. While growing up he was very active in sports, especially hockey, and experienced several injuries of his own. Dr. DeBlis was able to see firsthand how his hometown orthopaedic surgon was able to help him and he wanted to do the same for others some day.

Today, Dr. DeBlis is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of the lower extremity (foot, ankle, knee, and hip, including total ankle, knee, and hip replacements). He attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and received his Bachelors of Science in Biology with Honors; during that time his studies focused on Molecular and Cellular Biology. He went onto medical school and earned his Medical Doctorate from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was at Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital that Dr. DeBlis completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. While Dr. DeBlis could have started practicing medicine upon graduation, he went on to complete a fellowship to further his knowledge and skills. He completed his foot and ankle fellowship at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY; Hospital for Special Surgery has been named the #1 hospital in the United States for orthopaedics by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. DeBlis has authored and co-authored peer review articles, book chapters, and presentations about orthopaedics and has had the opportunity to provide care for a number of high-level high school, collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes.
